Just got a set of 315/16" tires and they have been working super. However, not I am around 35 passes and all of a sudden, hooking has become very inconsistent. Track conditions may not have been the best lately with the heat but still it has happened on various days, tracks and launch rpms.
My car is a mid 10-second car. I would usually get about 60-90 passes out of the bias ply ET street.
How long are you keeping your ET Street radials?

I have put over 70 passes on a set of them. My current tires have about 50-60 passes on them and are 1.5 years old. Tire still work.

That's strange, my M/T drag radials, have about 30 passes and 200 street miles on them and they still hook up, but then again I am slower...

See that is exactly what I am thinking too. Did super awesome for in the earlier life but now probably 8 of the last 10 passes have had some issue either breaking free on the the hit or on the shift to second

Our Real Street cars a year or 2 ago would go through 2-3 sets of slicks per year (high 8 to mid 9 second cars) and most were 3100 lbs and heavier. Once the M.T. E.T. radials came out, same cars would typically go all season on 1 set of tires ( stiffer sidewall does wonders). I've kept track of this because my tire sales were more than cut in half.

Hmm, that seems to be opposite from what I was thinking.
Hopefully I hook well at Cecil and can write it off to bad track conditions and be happy all over again.
Thanks.

[/quote] I have seen you make almost that many passes at a NSCA event last Year! I have about 100 runs on the mustang with no change in 60 foot. Gary has the same tire on his Challenger and has your problem with less then 30 passes. I say it in the burn out. I hardly get them hot. and he makes them smoke.
