Anyone running or ever tried to run a set of true 10.5 tires on a set of 14" wide rims? How difficult would it be to get these Goodyear 10.5X30 seated on a set of 14" wide rims?

Rich,
getting our 31x10.5W's onto a 14" rim was a real MFer.  With one less inch of sidewall, and being narrower I doubt they would fit, but someone out there has done it probably.

I just mounted the 30x10.5s on my 14" rims last week and it was not that bad. The sidewalls are really stiff compared to the MT but I got them on with working it with two bars and blowing the tires up over a tire machine(I do not run tubes) that has that extra air from the bottom to seat the bead. Last year I ran the MT 28x10.5W tire on a 14" rim for a local 10.5 class and it worked great. I decided to run your series this year so I went with the goodyears and it looks good on the 14". I also found an old press release from goodyear(Feb 2005) that says "The D1790 measures 30 inches tall by 10.5 inches wide and mounts on 15 inch wheels." so a 14" rim should work fine. Hope this helps.  Brian

Question.....I was told they will only work on a 14" with bead locks. Were you using bead locks?

I don't have beadlocks. What was the reason of why you had to have beadlocks?  Brian

They had said that the wheel would lose its seal and roll off the rim. Just what I was told    But I am glad to hear that you believe the 14 will work. I am going to have the gentleman bring one over and we will try and mount a tire on it and see how it works. If ya happen to have any pics I would love to see how it looks.

I emailed you a couple pictures. Don't know how to post them here.
