Thats actually a good question. Let me see if I can elaborate more on that. Give me a day or two to compose something. But basicly its gasoline derived race fuels that dont include alcohol or nitro.

thanks, rich     what was really in question, if the "gasoline " can be switched or doctored after a qualifing pass to get better performance or is the "gasoline "  you qualify with , ???is what you race with ?  no octane booster, octane mixing [ 2 types of gas to pinpoint a specific octane rating ]  just curious !  bgd racing, wfh 126 is my brother / and driver of the racecar.

The rules in all four of the classes state the same: Gasoline is the only fuel allowed. If you tighened up that statement how would you ever enforce it. The only way would be to take a fuel sample after each run and that would be real time consuming considering the small staff.

So the question is....Can you mix or alter fuels or are you allowed to use exotic fuels....Answer is YES.

It's not a heads up format per se, so what does it really matter.  As long as it's not alky or nitro!  Wink

in AMI it really would not matter as you still have to run the number.

thanks again rich, being new you like to know whats what, not trying change the way you do things! the tuner has the car running on 93 octane pump gas, and it works extermely well, best to date 9.90 @ 135 mph. some organizations are very particular about the fuel, so we just want Roll Eyes to be legal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The fuel can of worms has been opened!!!!! Roll Eyes
Thats not actually as far out of bounds as you think!  Big article in Hot Rod on the use of E85 as race fuel.  Since that is ethanol, rather than methanol.......its all alcohol and therefore not legal since its not gasoline.  Right?
