I have looked all over the PADOT website, and DMV.org, and all I see is a PDF on titling a homemade trailer, but that PDF doesn't open for me...

Who from PA has registered a trailer and what is the proceedure?

Are you registering a car trailer?  If so forget about PA.  Title & tag it in Maine.  Nothing illegal about it, you get the Maine paperwork with your home address on it and it is $40 for 2 years on my 10000 lb enclosed.  You also don't have to pay sales tax or get it inspected.  Let me know if your interested in the phone #.

Call Maine DMV and they will get you going. The # is 207-624-9000. They are great people to deal with.

Yeap, real easy and friendly people to deal with. Lots of companys do this that tag a lot of trailers. We tagged two trailers (1 new with title work) for five years, cheaper than one year in MD which has to be renewed every year. Chris (68rat) got me all the info. We got the website stuff at home if you can't find it. Wink

But don't you have to have an adress in Maine in order to register it there? How do you get around that?

Yeah I finally went with registering mine in Maine since it was older and I had to jump through a lot of hoops with getting it registered in PA, the only issue with registering it in Maine was with my insurance company, but they got it figured out...
