How many of you have insurance on your racecar?
If so, who do you deal with and how does the pricing work?
How many of you that dont, would be interested in having insurance?
Thanks ahead of time for your help in trying to get a potential sponsor involved. Rich

i had my car insured through haggerty insurance. the only thing they would not insure was an under power accident. theft, fire, crashed on the trailer going down the road and while in storage. i had it insured for 20,000 and it cost 285.00 per year. anything over 20,000 they would have to come out and appraise. dropped it last year because i was not doing a lot of 3 and 4 day events where the car would be sitting around. would definetly be interested in insuring it again especially with all the upgrades going on with the car over the winter. whoops did i let the cat out

I just got basic coverage to keep tags. I've been looking but can't find someone that dosen't have a boat load of exclusions. Everything that could happen they don't cover like Badbee said. Who ya got in mined?

Mine is insured as a street car under my standard State Farm policy, I would not be covered for anything on the track though...

mine is on my regular policy so i can have the street tag on it. most all of the special insurers don't want a car with a roll cage. i would be interested in better coverage.

After having insurance with Allstate for 15 years, the decided that they wouldn't cover my Cougar with Street Rod tags any longer. Had no points or accidents, just was the way their company was heading. I talked to a few people who had Specialty Auto Insurance, and because the car would be raced as well as street tagged, I couldn't get coverage. On the internet I found Infinity Insurance Company. Classic Collectors Auto Insurance Through Heacock CLassic. It's $250. for the year, I sent Digital photos with a brief description, and insured it for an agreed value of $16,000. As Ralph said, they claimed anything this side of going down the Dragstrip will be covered. I think I was paying a little over $400. a year with Allstate just for liability. Hope this helps.

I have mine insured thought Heacock. $275.00 per year. I had an appraisal done and it is good for $30000. I can drive it anywhere and it is issued all except when I am going down the track. A couple of years ago my door had a run in with my trailer at the track. They sent an adjuster out in 3 days and he wrote me a check right then to fix it. I also have my Roadrunner insured with them. You pay only 1 liablity premium.

I have had both my cars and trailer insured thru Heacock since 1997. They have 2 different policies for street car or Race car. The street car is limited to mileage etc. Race car is basically a keyoff policy, it covers everything but if the car is running. There is an article in the new Racepages about Heacock. I had my cars appraised by Automotive Legal Services in Dresher Pa to make sure I got the best amount of coverage/amount I could. Our car is insured by Smith and Wesson. Since when did Smith and Wesson make water pistols, or is it you chasing a guy with a bottle of Wesson cookin oil?

I'd be interested in insurance if my car was covered while in trailer, sitting in the pits at a track would be a bonus. I know the insurance drops on the track. I know Chris Evans has insurance that covers him up until the burn out box in his non N/A Drag radial mustang.

I'd be interested in insurance for "not under power" situations. Let us know what you find Rich.

I don't have it but would like to. Most of the guys around here use Geisenheimer Insurance in Southampton Pa. He is a "race car guy" and is at the track just about every weekend.
