Well I went out tonight and bought me a new truck. Nothing special just a nother Expedition. Traded the 1997 Expedition in on a 2002 Expedition. I just couldnt take seeing 225,000 on the odometer any more. Plus I got rid of a truck with a 4.6L and got one with a 5.4L.

I don't know how I am going to pay for it yet but I'll figure that out later Grin

Norm, good thing your 97 didn't have a 5.4. I had a 97 F150 with a 5.4 and it blew a head gasket at 97K. Early 5.4's were very problematic in the cylinder head/head gasket area. I've even hear of early 5.4 Expeditions blowing the plugs right outta the head!!!
Good luck w/the new one!

All the 5.4's upto '04 were plagued with blowing the plugs right outta the head , bad design of only 4 threads into the aluminum head......  reapair kit is $400 to doit yourself .....  $1k plus to have the shop do it ....

Yea I have the plug repaire kits here at the shop. I know all about the spark plug deal. Lots of my customers have work trucks and vans with the 5.4 They are no fun to do in a van let me tell you.

Thanks for looking out guys. I had to do something though the old one was getting very tired. I got a good deal on this one that is the only reason I bought it. Loaded with the 5.4 I walked out at $10,000.

Thanks everyone hope it goes well for at least the next 4 years till it gets paid for I think I might end up delivering pizzas it is pretty comfortable I could drive it around for a couple nights a week.  Norm I know all about getting a good deal being the only reason you got it mine was $8500 ebay from a local owner.

I've been craving the Royal Red Robin lately.  Wish it was closer to me.  It costs me more in fuel than for the burger Shocked
