as far as i know they are the same. the pre 86 ones were .200" thicker at the strut mounting ear but otherwise the same. the sn95's are different since all were 5 lug and they had bigger brakes. 86 to 93 can use other stock rotors to go to 5 lug but the pre 86 do not take a stock 5 lug rotor. i have some info at home (work now) and i will try to remember to send it to you. it covers upgrades for spindles and brakes using stock parts

the v8 ones are thinner where the strut bolts on, dust sheild holes are different also.  ran into this on my 92.  bought strange brakes for 4cyl, but strange struts are v8 only. so i had to find spindles ,than change my brake caliper mounting bracket out with strange.

79-86 V-8 79-93 4 cyl ex SVO are the same and accept a 10" rotor, 87-93 V-8 only accept 11" rotor.  The V-8 spindle is indeed slightly thinner where the strut bolts on.  Most cheap aftermarket struts come with thin spacers to use on any spindle.  Good struts like Konis are specific
