It started to run bad last night so I scaned it today at work miss fire on # 8 cylinder. No biggie I put some new plugs in it still have the problem  Angry I am sure all it needs is a new coil but I am not paying for it considering I have a warranty on the truck. They promise I will get it back tommorrow. If they don,t we will have even more problems. Anyone got a truck I can borrow?  Angry

Norm, where are you at and when do you need a tow? If you are close I can try and drop my junk off and come get you...

Thanks for the offer. I live an hour or so south of the track. They swear my truck will be done in time.

Ouch, an hour south. Again, lets hear if they get it to you and maybe we can work something out, I may ask for some gas money though. If possible I will drop my stuff off tonight and leave it there and come down and get you before the race, the bigger issue is getting everyone home afterwards since I am on hour north of the track...

Just got off the phone and it is fixed so they say. So I am headed down to pick it it up. Thanks for the offer to help John. I really wouldn't expect anyone to drive a hour out of there way so I could go racing.

But while I was off today running around and finishing up the last little bit of stuff I had to do I got a chance to drive the wifes car. A 2004 Lincoln LS and I must say for a v6 (I wouldnt let her buy the V8) it is a very quick car. I got into it with a BMW M3 on 95 and before I new it I was going 120 MPH. Now that I think about it That wasnt a very good Idea but it was fun  Evil

No problem, I try and do what I can. I have had people go out of their way for me like that in the past so I will always try and do the same...

There was a f-body race at MIR a few years back and my rear was acting up, and I said I wasn't going to attend the race because if it broke I wouldn't be able to get the car home (no trailer back then) and it was still a street car/daily driver so I drove to most races raced and drove the car home. One of the other racers car wasn't ready so they offered for me to drive my car to their place (out near Maple Grove), meet them for the first time in person (another internet forum type thing), and follow them to the shop in Frederick, MD where their car and trailer were, then trailer me to MIR and back just in case. Thier excuse was they were going anyway since they had the trophies, and I chipped in for gas and bought them dinner, but it was still rather nice of them to offer...

After dealings like that, and the friendly people with the Ram Series, I will gladly do what I can to help other racers make a race...

Yea it seems to be running ok now. I was driving my wifes car all day while runnig errans and I took my carb apart. Went to the local speed shop bought some parts for it, went and picked my wife up, got the truck, drove all the way to the car, and all of the parts are in her car.

Now my car is sitting there with the carb apart and she is out shopping. I am home now but the car is at the shop 30 miles away!
