I used to have one back in the early 90's and have thought about putting one in the truck for the trips to the track, but didn't think anyone else had one. If there are a lot of you guys running them then the trips to long trips/caravans to the tracks might be more interesting...

My mom was a big CB'r back in the day and I talked on one from about the time I could talk till I was a teenager, even had one on my cavalier in high school. I stopped using CB's when it failed when I needed it and that was about the time cell phones were becoming a big deal, so I got one of those bag phones and haven't used a CB since...

I wouldn't mind hearing what some of you guys are using now, but back then the non-amplified ones were only good for a few miles with a decent sized whip...

I had one in the 90's too.  In fact it is still sitting on the floor somewhere as I found it the other day and was thinking about trying it again.

It is a little cheap on.  Uniden I think.  Had a K40 magnet antenna.

Yeah I know exactly where my one from the 90's is, and it is sitting on a shelf in my basement, it too is an old Uniden, but I haven't a clue what happened to my antenna...

what is a 6 pill amp?

was getting line of sight, had it fixed, now has greater, but unknown, range. would like to have better range.

use it mostly to listen for traffic, etc when towing the car.
