I had the Fairlane at the strip last night and after the final run I had a new noise! Pulled the air cleaner off and can hear what I think is an intake valve sputtering back thru the carb. Any advice before I tear into this thing. I have not tore down a motor for years so need to diagnois before hand. I have not pulled the vaalve covers yet. This an FE and I do not know for sure what it is other than it has a cross bolted block. Supposed to be a 427 but we will find out now!

Thanks John

Leak the motor and see if it has more leakage in one cylinder than others. Check the valve springs to see if any are broken.

No I do not, I have the Gas Ronda Tribute car built by John Ronda.

I got brave and pulled the valve cover and found the rocker shaft broke on both ends and a bent pushrod! I think I am going to pulll the motor and find out what this thing really is. The season is over up here both for the track and street driving. You know how it is when you buy a car, This will take care of any doubts on it.

I know what they told me. I am pulling the engine next week and that will show the fiction, I am sure there is some! Did not believe everything when I bought it either. I willl have it ready for spring so I can come play with you guys then. Just need it to be a little faster!
