Got some important news regarding Defnder and Safety Solutions today

Here is a copy of a email I got from HANS today, Basiclly if you have a Safety Solutions product, loks like it is now only good for 3 years. Until this gets sorted out, we will not be offering any Defnders.

Leatt Corporation, along with Exceed Holdings, recently filed a complaint on June 16, 2009 in the federal court in the southern district of California against IST and others for the theft of trade secrets, unfair competition and tortuous interference. We will try to keep everyone updated with the goings on what we can, when we can.

In another area, Safety Solutions has placed a 3 year life span on their Professional and Rage Series of products. This includes the Hybrid, Hybrid X, Hybrid Rage, Hybrid Pro, R3 and R3 Rage. By the time you read this, the regional dealer training in upstate New York will have taken place. There are two more planned as of right now, Denver on July 8 and Seattle on July 15. We are looking at a couple more for this year. Cities and dates we are considering are Indianapolis on September 1, Charlotte on September 16, Los Angeles on November 11 and at PRI in Orlando on December 9. All cities and dates, except PRI, are in conjunction with NHRA national events. I can offer some free event passes to anyone attending these training sessions.

If you haven’t attended a training session in the past two years, you are out of date on all the changes that have taken place. Our training is not just size, fitment and anchor installation. We still cover that but we also cover the competitors’ devices, technical issues like harness installation, seats, helmets, and dealer issues. I urge everyone to take advantage of one of the training sessions near you as soon as possible. We believe it is very important, that is why it is a requirement of being a HANS Device dealer.

Not saying that they do John, but this is the second notice I have received that Defnder is being sued (buy a second co. now), and that sucks because I just applied for a Defnder dealership. The Suit INCLUDES DEALERS (dont understand how they can but..),so I have been told.
I like the Defnder It's a great product, and I want to sell them ( I wish this would get settled sooner rather than later). The point of posting the email was to make people aware that SAFETY SOLUTIONS PRODUCTS NOW HAVE A LIFE TIME OF 3 YEARS.Not that 1 product was better than another.Thats a arguement that can never be won by anybody because Head and neck restraints are a preferance..people prefer what they prefer.

I understand.  I was just commenting on how HANS is being a bully.  If there product was that good, price wouldn't matter and they would continue to sell products.  When I was at PRI talking to the defnder guys, Dr. HANS was circling their display like a vulcher.  I tried on every companies product at PRI.  I went with the defnder not only on price but more importantly comfort and ease of putting it on.  To me it sounds like someone pissed in HANS cheerio's.

It does Seem that way, and there have been conversations that I have had that would make me think the same thing. I have tried on the Defnder as well and it is more comfortable imo. And the price point as well as the design makes it alot more feasable to carry on our trailer. I can stock 5 on the trailer and fit just about anybody that wants one, where as there is no way I can do that with HANS. I order just about everyone because of all the different sizes and Styles etc. I just cant take a chance at a law suit(which is probably not going to affect Dealers imo.)But you never know these days.

I am using a Defnder this year.  Seen it at PRI.  Would have got it from you Brian, but that was before I new you had them.  I never tried on a Hans, so I don't know the differences.  Seems to do a good job of holding your head where it belongs.

Just talked to Defnder, they dont expect any issues w/ HANS.IN fact, they are counter sueing HANS..LOL
Anyway ,we will continue to offer the Defnder product to anybody that is interested. Also Safety Solutions has also stated that the info HANS sent out didnt apply to the Hybrid and R3 UNITS... Looks like HANS is 0'FER.
