I've been wanting a street car for some time now. Something my whole family can enjoy. I would like to trade my 1969 Lemans race car for a street car. I am partial to big cars and WAGONS, but will consider others. Does not even have to be a Pontiac (although it will be Pontiac powered at some point!). I am looking to trade my car as a roller with fuel system, and electrical system intact. Everything but motor and trans.  I will sell if trade cannot be found.

Some info on my car:

1969 Lemans drag car. Weighs 2940 with no driver. Glass hood with forward facing scoop and air pan (I have the flat piece that was removed if you want to make it flat again, front fenders (Black), and front/rear bumpers, lexan side windows (Clear One scratch resistant).
Chassis is certified to 8.50, and is current. Cage done by Jack Gaydosh of Gaydosh Performance
Stroud window net, RCI platinum harness (will need to be re-webbed after 7/09).
Mallory Comp 250 fuel pump with Mallory regulator (set up with -10 AN return), BG 5000 filter, 10 gallon RCI cell.
ARC soft touch wiring system.
Chevy 12 bolt rear end, 35 spline Strange axles and Strange C-clip eliminators (that do NOT leak) with lightweight Richmond spool, 3.73 gear. 5/8 inch studs in rear.
H&R Parts 'N Stuff rear anti-roll bar, airbags in both rear factory spring (not used any longer but are fine).
Hotchkis lower rear control arms.
Competition Engineering 3 way shocks all around.
Wilwood front brakes (4 piston calipers, drilled rotors) Front end limiters installed.
I have a BRAND new set of Autofab Race Cars tubular front control arms for a coilover setup that can go with car. ($899 new from Autofab)
Centerline wheels front(15x4.5) and rear (15x8).
30x9" Hoosier radial slicks still have some life left.
Autometer gauges
MSD digital 6 ignition
B&M Prostick shifter
Extra seat and frame for Pass side.
Set up for Pontiac motor (Tabs welded for front "Elephant Ears") and TH400
Front suspension (Ball joints and bushings all new 3 years ago, only 1/4 mile runs)
Tie down loops welded to front of frame
Have title for car.

Car has gone 9.81 @ nearly 137mph with a 1.38 60'. Car is very consistent. Went 10.06-10.20 in the heat at VMP PITP 2009, shifted at only 5800!

Body is not wonderful, but not horrible either. Really no rust to speak of. The area by the rear window needs some attention, but this car could be painted without a lot of effort.

I know I will never get out what I have in this car, but perhaps someone who is looking to get into racing has something to trade, and we will both get what we want.

I have enjoyed this car over the past 6 years, but it is time to move on to something my whole family can enjoy. I will come back to racing some day, but now is not the right time. If you want any more information, please don't hesitate to PM me, or ask here. I'm not looking for total junk, or a major project. I'm also not looking for a show car. I just want a decent driver we can have some fun with.

TRADE OR

Sell for $4900 less headers (Pontiac round port, Mad Dog 2" Primary 3 1/2" collectors with evac for an Extra $250)  Add tubular control arms for $400 (ONLY if they go with car).

Start adding the parts up, and you will never build it for anywhere near this price.  I hope to return to AMI with a street car at some point, although it may be a tad slower!

Thanks Edgar.  I'll be back next year.  With a slightly slower, and much bigger car.  Wink

How much bigger, big enough to charge for 2 cars?

LOL

Big cars must work, look at Cliffy, hell by the time you have reached the back bumper you still have the state of Tennessee to go to get to the front end, by the time you get there race is over.
