Just wondering why tank tops are prohibited by NHRA.
My son was racing his relatively slow (14.50, no helmet) Fiero Turbo and was getting ready to pull out of the staging lane and they said he couldn't run because of the tank top shirt. He hopped out of the car and ran over to me and took the shirt off my back (must be some symbolism there)
. He gets back in and pulls to the line and redlights (-.029).
Granted he was pumped from runng but kinda lost his composure. Oh well, he's only 17.
I don't see what a few inches of fabric on the shoulders makes? Plus they could have left it a a warning for the next round.
