OK, I am going to show how much of a rookie I am and that I don't know anything again, but are there any tips for launching off a Pro Tree?
With the standard sportsman tree that I am used to running off of you have about 1.5 or so seconds following the staging to get the car ready for launch as the ambers drop. But it's my understanding, never done it so don't know for sure, is that after the last guy stages then all the yellows flash and in AMI .5 seonds later the green goes. This only give about that .5 to get the car ready to launch is that correct?
I guess it would be of benefit to stage first, but then if I ride the stall while the other guy is staging then you all know how that turns out...
So who wants to clue me in? Any tips for the rookie?

Staging courtesy is to not fully stage until your opponent has at least prestaged.
Once that is done, I like to get my rpm up before I stage (footbraking). the tree should be on autostart which means as soon as one is fully stage and the other is prestaged you are on the clock and if you are not staged, get in!
Soon as you light both stare at that top bulb till it starts to come on and rip it.
This advice comes from someone who knows hot to do and rarely executes it so I too will listen to anyone other advice

Here is the best tip...............When you see any movement in the tree........GO!!!! On a .500 tree and a mid 12 sec. car, should be right on, I am thinking.

Thanks for those tips, good to know... I have a decent reaction time on the full tree, but have no practce on the pro tree, so I am glad that it is handicapped.

Tip number One... "Don't Blink"
I'm not sure if it was originally ment as a joke or not, I took it as one at first, but after thinking about it that is actually a good tip, thanks...

I too have zero experience on a pro tree. I'm a footbrake racer who's been doing just that for the last 19 years on only a full tree. This will be a whole new ball game for me. I'm planning on being at Cecil's Saturday test n tune to practice the .500 pro tree. I had planned on getting out sooner but with my work schedule and the uncooperative weather lately, I just haven't been able to get to the track. The only pro tree practice I've been doing lately is on my final round practice tree. I'm not sure if I'll end up deep staging or not. I figure it's going to take several runs for me to become comfortable with the pro tree.

I have the same feeling that it will take a few runs to be comfortable, but we only get 2 qualifying runs and I don't think I will be all that comfortable with just that so I hope to treat this first evcent more like practice and hope to get through at least a few rounds...

It could be taking as fun but on the same note I am serious.. When you roll the stage light on you better be ready or your late. There is no time to "Get ready" once the stage lights are on for both side.. All three ambers and go... If you see amber you better be moving.

I was just working on it mentally and realized that I need to start working on moving into stageing with both feet since I am used to having a lot of prep time on a full tree that I was able to drive in like normal, one foot gas and brake and then swapping feet for the left to hold the brake and right on the gas. But it looks like I need to already start getting the revs up while staging and need to work on creeping the car with the left on the brake, I see the first few time staging going badly...

You should be fine John. Like Perk said when you see amber you better be on your way. Just try to bump in the same every time be it deep or short. However, you can still go red on a .500 tree with a fairly quick car. I'm around .060 to .085 footbraking on a .400 tree which is not all that hot but, thats red on a .500 tree! I will be turning that stage light on by just a hair!
