My car is still not ready, so I have to live vicariously thru others.
How did it go today?

Well you didn't miss much. Unless you consider a long boaring uneventful day missing something. After 10 TEN yes TEN hours at beautiful ATCO raceway ::)RAM was able to make it to 1st round of eliminations. A very anti-climatic start to the race season. But thats just my opinion, needless to say I'm glad my car wasn't ready either!!

Yes, there were many waisted hours, but I know I had fun and met a lot of great people... That and I kept getting personal bests... And for those that were not there the issue was not with our series it was with Atco quadruple booking the day with other events...

Not only was Rich's RAM program not given it's due recognition and track time, but the starting line was plain JUNK for first round, although seemed fine for the two qualifying passes. Everyone in our group spun the tires off first round. Some were able to make up time and win the round, others like myself were not so lucky (AMI racers). The track just went away and the track personel didn't make any effort to correct it.
Atco blew it big time today in showcasing Rich's race. Also was not fair to all racers having ZERO track prep for first round. If us AMI guys had trouble on the start line first round, how did the faster heads up classes fair in terms of hooking?
Sorry Rich, but you and all the RAM racers deserve better from ATCO.

They didn't..except for the 1st round of qual. when Ron "class Killer" Rhodes DESTROYED the record and got a "random" motor pump as his prize!!! Congrats man!!!

I sincerely apologize for our day today, I was unprepared for the workload dropped on us because of the problems in the tower. I feel terrible about todays event, or should I say the way the day unfolded. I made alot of new friends today, but unfortunately made a few enemies as well.
To be truthful, I was apprehensive about the AMI class, but today was pretty cool, I must say its actually alot more exciting than I expected. It will take some fine tuning but I think its gonna be a blast. I think the great group of racers competing in it is the reason.
I will post the plans to finish this event online early this week. Thanks for those of you understanding, and for those who were aggravated by the day, its understandable, very long day that didnt go far.....again sorry : ).
Needless to say, we wont have to worry about having this problem next season, no reason to when we have other tracks who are very considerate to us. I would be stupid to attempt this again there.
Rich

Congrats to Ron and his awesome pass, man that thing is plain fast. As far as the pump, when you have a little downtime as we did and you discuss with your tech guy who we want to begin pumping with, and Ron standing out like a sore thumb, maybe not random but maybe expected. But I will proclaim to the entire Drag Radial field, Ron came up LEGIT!! Regardless of whether it was unpleasant or not, Ron didnt blink nor complain, he complied fully and we appreciate that. Rich

Rich Did Langer get pumped...he stuck out like a sore thumb as well with an 8.55....I'm pretty sure the answer is, no. I'm sure, as with Ron, John had nothing to fear either. You should have never said "it's a random pump" cause it smelled like BS from the get go!

Thanks for putting everything together today Rich, it's not your fault it didn't finish. Although I had problems in the first qualifying round and couldn't run anymore, I had a good time and will definitely be back.

I'm sure if he would have ran an 8.55 the first round of qualifing he would have gotten pumped too. If you want to pump him, stop by tonight the cars in the garage and it will come up legit also and fully RAM legal. Congrads to the Rhodes crew, you got them Camaro's flat out flying! Thanks Rich and crew for all your efforts at Atco.

I went into this pumped and was very excited to be a part of Ram Racing for the first time.
Qualifying was exciting and AMI turnout was spectacular. I counted 36 for our first round of qualifying. I could not ask to be a part of a better thing.
Thanks Rich for adding the class!
As for results from me...car failed me at the line so I went out first round though I did qualify well with a 10.56 on a 10.50 index.

Sorry if you took it wrong, I wasn't accusing him of ANY wrong doings. On a different note, it was interesting to see how they do it.

Atco was very disappointing to say the least! It would have been great to have finish this race due to the fact that the track prep(or lack of) made it anybodys race.
I feel for the racers that made the long haul and didnt get to finish.
I know Rich and Tina did the best that they could. We were at the mercy of the track.

Yeah I was spending more time looking over at your car, cussing myself even though I thought it was a damn good run for me aside from the R/T, and didn't see the win light. I got the ticket and was reading it on the way back and saw the win, I thought I was going to shit myself. I still need to work on those R/T's though, because my .328 just plain sucks...

Thank you to all the racers who turned out to run the N/A series. Thank you Rich & Tina! Disappointed that we unable to finish but our family was not surprised. We arrived @ ATCO 8:30 saturday morning to let our daughter race her junior dragster and we entered PRO & STREET classes. 1st round of eliminations for PRO/STREET was @ 7:50 PM and @ 11:10 they called the race due to curfrew @ start of 4th round. Saturday had minimal down time, but they also had overbooked events. The blame falls on ATCO! Looking forward to seeing everyone @ MIR. David & Erica Atco was very disappointing to say the least! It would have been great to have finish this race due to the fact that the track prep(or lack of) made it anybodys race.
